The year 2024 began on a great note for Telugu cinema. Several movies hit the theaters during Sankranti and saw an impressive box-office collection. Guntur Kaaram, HanuMan, Saindhav, and Naa Saami Ranga were the films that competed at the box office. Now, February is also filled with Telugu movie releases. Moreover, several star-studded films will see the light of day this month, including Eagle and Operation Valentine.
Here is the list of the movies releasing this month:
It has been years since the comedy drama Ambajipeta Marriage Band was announced. The Telugu movie is written and directed by debutant Dushyanth Katikaneni, while Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment is producing it. The film stars Suhas, Goparaju Ramana, and Shivani Nagaram in the lead roles.
Recently, Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda reviewed the movie and gave it a thumbs up. The actor was seemingly pleased by the film’s unique plot, and he also praised its makers and cast. Ambajipeta Marriage Band is set to release on February 2, 2024.
Bootcut Balaraju is another Telugu movie releasing on February 2, 2024. The upcoming romantic comedy will see Syed Sohel Ryan in the lead role. On the other hand, Ananya Nagalla, Sunil, Meghalekha, Vennela Kishore, and others are in the supporting cast. Sree Koneti has written and directed it. Details about the movie’s plot are currently under wraps.
Many consider Yatra 2 to be an important Telugu movie because it is a biographical drama. The film stars Jiiva and Malayalam star Mammootty in the lead roles and follows the story of Andhra Pradesh’s late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Director Mahi V Raghav is helming the film, while V Celluloid and Three Autumn Leaves have produced it.
As the movie is set against the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh’s politics, Jiiva believes that it is more of an emotional flick. Moreover, during his latest interview with India Today, the actor said, “Yatra 2 is more of an emotional story. It’s a real story. Usually, we project a person who has passed away as a demi-god. But, Yatra 2 is about an active Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy. So, we have underplayed. The story is not political, it is about how he comes to power after his father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s, death.” The movie is releasing on February 8.
Ravi Teja is again set to entertain the audience with his impeccable acting skills in Eagle. The actor was last seen playing an eye-catching role in Tiger Nageswara Rao, which impressed the audience last year. Karthik Gattamneni has written the film and is also serving as its director. Kavya Thapar and Anupama Parameswaran are the leading ladies of the upcoming movie.
Not many details about the film’s plot is out yet. Earlier, this Telugu movie was in the Sankranti race, competing with Guntur Kaaram, HanuMan, and others. However, the makers opted out of the race and delayed the film. Eagle is now set to hit the theaters on February 9.
The action movie genre in the Indian cinema has taken to the air with Fighter. The movie following Hrithik Roshan’s action drama is Varun Tej’s upcoming film Operation Valentine. Based on a true story, the movie allegedly follows the story behind one of the biggest air strikes in India. Interestingly, the movie will mark Manushi Chhillar’s Telugu debut and Varun Tej’s Hindi one. Shakti Pratap Singh Hada has co-written the film’s screenplay and directed the film.
Operation Valentine will release on February 16 in Telugu and Hindi languages.
Beyond these releases, there are a bunch of Telugu movies to look forward to in the month of February. Additionally, it would be interesting to see how much the Telugu cinema earns in the month.
