The Telugu film industry offers many romantic comedies with dramatic storylines. The genre has a massive fanbase of viewers who enjoy watching light-hearted stories. The 2021 film Shaadi Mubarak is a romantic comedy that stars Sagar RK Naidu and Drishya Raghunath. Despite being a love story, the film’s plot thoroughly entertained the audience.
Shaadi Mubarak follows the story of Madhav, a software employee who agrees to an arranged marriage. His family then sends him to a marriage bureau to help him find a suitable match. The bureau is run by Jayamma. Her daughter, Satya, short for Satyabhama, is a happy-go-lucky girl who lives on her terms. She has no plans of settling down. Satya takes Madhav to meet different women. As Madhav struggles to understand how to choose a match, Satya tells him that he might fall in love with one of the women at first sight.
As Madhav meets the first woman on the list, he realizes that he is more interested in Satya. He notices how she beautiful she looks while sneezing and smiling. Moreover, she dodges every possible question regarding her marriage. Despite developing strong feelings, Madhav chooses to stay quiet.
The story of Shaadi Mubarak takes an exciting turn when Madhav meets the second woman, Bhagya. As he goes to talk to her, Satyabhama feels anxious. On returning from the room, Madhav and Bhagya hold hands and announce that they are ready to marry each other. This decision leaves Satya heartbroken, and she agrees to tie the knot with Rakesh. However, it turns out that Madhav decided to marry Bhagya after learning about her miserable condition. He then helps Bhagya convince her father to let her marry the man she loves.
Later, the story moves towards a simple climax. As Madhav packs his bag to leave, his mother learns about his feelings for Satya. On the other hand, Satya, unaware of Madhav’s feelings, begins preparing for her engagement to Rakesh. She goes to a jewelry store and meets the first woman that Madhav met during the matchmaking process. The woman tells Satya how Madhav was evidently in love with her and thought they were tying the knot.
A puzzled Satya walks on the road, thinking about how Madhav treated her. She unpacks her gift from Madhav and begins sneezing. As she looks at the road before her, Madhav approaches her on his motorcycle. After a long fight, Madhav confesses his love for Satya and proposes to her with his most precious ring. Satya agrees to spend her entire life with Madhav, and the two soon get married.
Shaadi Mubarak is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The film’s official synopsis reads, “Madhav, an introverted software employee, gets compelled to meet three brides of alliances arranged by a marriage bureau run by Jayamma.
