CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV/Gray News) - Angie Harmon, former Law & Order actress, shared on social media that her dog was shot and killed by an Instacart delivery driver over the Easter weekend.
Harmon posted on Monday via Instagram that the driver got out of his car, delivered the groceries to her home in Charlotte, and then shot the dog, Oliver.
“This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver,” she said.
She continued sharing that she and her daughters were home, and the delivery driver kept saying, “‘Yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah, I did.’”
“Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded,” Harmon said.
According to the ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ actress, the man was working under a woman’s identity.
WBTV reported that the employee had worked with Instacart for over two years and had over 6,000 orders.
“We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member,” Harmon wrote in her post.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police told WBTV that no charges were filed and the person was let go due to self-defense.
Instacart released the following statement regarding the situation:
“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform. We have been in direct contact with the customer and are cooperating with law enforcement on their investigation.”
