Tamil actor-filmmaker Vishal has doubled down on his allegations against a section of theatre owners in Tamil Nadu, alleging efforts to sabotage the release of his latest movie Rathnam.
In a social media post, Vishal accused office bearers of the film distribution associations of Trichy and Tanjore areas of power abuse and running kangaroo courts.
"And finally #kattapanchayath is up and going without any fear or remorse which means that Tamil cinema and Tamil cinema producers in particular are in for a rollercoaster ride this year. Dearest executive members of #TTAREA theatre association u hav created a very big impact by making sure that kangaroo courts still and will exist. But this will go down with a fighter like me," said Vishal.

What is the controversy?
Vishal vowed to continue his fight against the irregularities in the film industry to create a conducive environment for all producers like him.
"Will definitely bring u down with justice even if it’s a bit late. Coz I believe that all producers hav families too and are here for a living and not for taking movies as a hobby. Thank u producer council of various sections god knows for Wat joy or reason you hav so many associations for producers. It’s a shame on you all. From not the general secretary or from an actor or from a producer. But this is from a former producer s son who has seen Wat goes on a Thursday evening to deliver their baby to the audience," he added.
