Sivakarthikeyan’s latest produced film, Kurangu Pedal, hit the theatres on May 3, 2024, and received mostly positive reviews. Following its successful theatrical run, a Tamil OTT giant recently announced that the film will soon be available for streaming.
Set against the backdrop of village life in the 1980s, Kurangu Pedal was showcased in the Indian Panorama section of India’s 53rd International Film Festival. Directed by Kamalakannan, the film is based on the short story titled “Cycle,” written by Rasi Azhagappan.
The storyline revolves around the conflict between a father and son over a bicycle. The son dreams of riding a bicycle, but the father, who does not know how to ride one, opposes the idea. Despite being financially unstable, the son somehow gathers money to rent a bicycle.
Kurangu Pedal features a talented cast, including Santhosh Velmurugan, VR Raghavan, M Gnanasekar, Sathish, and Sai Ganesh. Additionally, Kaali Venkat portrays the role of the father, accompanied by Prasanna Balachander and Jenson Diwakar from the YouTube channel Nakkalites in key roles.
While announcing Kurangu Pedal’s digital release, Aha Tamil took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared the film poster. The post featured the caption, “Indha kozhandhaigaloda kurumba paaka miss panidathinga,” which roughly translates to “Don’t miss watching the mischief of these children.” The tweet further stated that Kurangu Pedal is coming soon on Aha Tamil.

However, the platform did not reveal any specific date for its streaming. Additionally, Sivakarthikeyan Productions has reposted the same. This announcement has sparked excitement among those who missed its theatrical run, providing them the opportunity to enjoy it digitally.
