Veoma zanimljiva ponuda o kojoj valja razmisliti. Ne mogu je odmah ptihvatiti dok ne izvršim konsultacije sa svojim nasljednicima. Za sad toliko i hvala!

For that price tag of $38,000, it should be a “Forever Plan”

I really like this idea! Normally, when we die, our websites die, unless there’s someone else renewing the domain name and hosting. I might sign up when I’m much older, as I want my photography website to live even after I’m gone. 😅

I like the idea of this but would want some idea of how much it was going to cost before I applied. Can’t see anything about that anywhere…

This feels so morbid 🙋♀️
But it would be nice to have a blog secured for your lifetime at least.

Just wondering, who is going to check up to see that worldpress and blogging as we know it is around 100 years from now? Its an interesting thought.

This looks like something I would be interested in for my blog. What sort of price are we talking about? I couldn’t see anything anywhere saying how much it would be.

$38k. Yup. Any idea what $38,000 invested in the stock market today would look like 100 years from now? 🤯

Without content you have no business model.
So it is in your interest that our content is also secured with you in the future.
I would appreciate it if the users could be provided with more free web space. I mean for free to expand your offer. There are also a few tools to make the websites and blogs better and clearer.
I would be very happy if you would do more for these free users.
Kind regards

100 year plan feels like an unnecessary promise. It honestly feels like another marketing gimmick to keep users.
An option to disconnect after a person passes away would be good. It needs to be a choice when a person starts a blog. 3-5 emails notifications reminding the person that the blog will be deleted if they don’t log in.
I wish all social media platforms did the same. But they don’t. The legacy I feel is more about the platform rather than the user.

Thanks for the feedback! We’ve also heard from many users who choose our service because they want to keep their sites up long after they pass away. In the past, they’ve had to strategize so that their sites will eventually downgrade gracefully to a free plan. We’re aiming to have better options for them, and we’ll note your feedback, too. Thanks!

Hi! We understand there’s an issue with some ISPs in Brazil. Your connection is blocking access to our sites. We’re working on this side to see what can be done, and if you can also ask your ISP to fix it, that can help too.

As anything can happen in a scale of 100 years(from the closing of wordpress to nuclear war) You need to prepare measures for the wildest cases that can endanger the continuing of the 100 year plan

Amazing idea! I know there are some blogging platforms that have promised to be online forever. But this mention of 100 years by WordPress.com has made it something different.

100 years is a long time. I’d love to see similar options but for shorter periods of time e.g. 10, 25 and 50 years as no one knows what the future will hold

I wanted to tease & write “Who’s gone ahead to the 100-year point to make sure this is set up?” But it’s a valid concern & I’m ready for updates.

It’s good to have this option, but hopefully it wont be the only one to give websites some longevity, especially if they contain resources that others are likely to continue to find useful. if you ever want to set up a discussion around different needs and options, I’d be happy to participate.

Hi Supernovia – sorry for the delay in getting back to you re “And if you’d like to join a discussion group around WordPress.com topics in a more general sense, let us know!” Potentially happy to, if you can let me know more about what’s involved – maybe we can move to e-mail to discuss this.
