It’s rare for the U.S. premiere window to be as it is today. Typically, there’s always a Telugu film premiering in the U.S.
The U.S. has become a key market for the Telugu industry, and even films with average content generate decent revenues here, depending on the cast, etc.
But today, there are literally zero new releases in the U.S., while we have a couple of releases in the Telugu states that no one knows or cares about. Usually, when such films with zero visibility release these days, theaters are cancelling shows because they are not even selling 5 tickets, and there is a minimum of five tickets to be sold to start the screening of a film.
This occurrence is very rare, and today marks a dead day for U.S. premieres of Telugu films.
‘Gaami’ is the only option this weekend, and the Telugu version of ‘Premalu’ is available in very few locations.
