Deborah A. Seo, 54, passed away surrounded by her loving family after giving her all in a fierce battle at Newark Beth Israel Hospital from complications arising from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).
Born on July 10, 1969 in Newton, Deb graduated from High Point Regional High School in 1987 and went on to earn her Associates from Orange County Community College in 1989. Deb began her career as a Medical Laboratory Technician caring for patients over the years at local hospitals in Northern NJ. She worked hard and advanced her career with Roche Diagnostics where she was currently employed as a Senior IT Customer Consultant.
Deb was an active member of the Frankford Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered many hours to serve her community. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Deb knew how to have a good time and enjoyed every moment of her time with us.
Although Deb’s RA was diagnosed well over 15 years ago, it advanced unknowingly into RA Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). She was fighting pneumonia, Covid, and CMV which were all devastating complications. Deb wanted everyone to know about the destructive effects RA can have not only on joints but organs as well (especially lungs). We didn’t know this in time, and we are her voice now, urging all undergoing treatment for RA to speak to your doctor about having routine screenings for RA ILD.
Deb was predeceased by her parents, John A. Rose and Evelyn N. Rose. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Seo of Branchville, NJ, her sons who always made her proud and both served our country in the USMC, Bradley M. Seo and partner Shania of Columbus OH, and Kyle T. Seo of San Diego CA. Deb is also survived by her devoted sister, Diana L. Olano (Rose) and husband James of Sparta NJ. Deb was cherished by so many other family members and dear friends.
A memorial visitation for Deb will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ 07826, with a memorial service at 3:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Deb’s memory to Frankford Township Fire Department by mail to P.O. Box 419 August, NJ 07822, or online at frankfordtownshipfiredepartment.org
