Greg Kwedar's prison drama, about a group of incarcerated men who find purpose in forming a theater troupe, will be released by A24 in the U.S. on July 12.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) will screen the European premiere of Greg Kwedar’s prison drama Sing Sing, starring Oscar nominee Colman Domingo.
In Sing Sing, a group inside an infamous maximum security correctional facility finds purpose by acting together in a theater troupe. When a wary outsider joins, the men decide to stage their first original comedy entitled “Breakin’ the Mummy’s Code” from inception to opening night.
Alongside Domingo (Rustin, Euphoria) star newcomer Clarence Maclin and Academy Award nominee Paul Raci.
We Are Parable will present screenings of the film at EIFF with extended intros. Sing Sing will screen at EIFF on Aug. 16 at the Cameo cinema and will be released by Black Bear, which also produced the film, in the U.K. and Ireland on Aug. 30. The film will be released by A24 in the U.S. on July 12.
EIFF recently announced that its early-evening opening night film will be Nora Fingscheidt’s (System Crasher) adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s best-selling memoir, The Outrun, starring Saoirse Ronan (Ladybird, Brooklyn).
EIFF director Paul Ridd has said: “I am fortunate enough to have seen firsthand the incredible work Anthony (Andrews) and Teanne (Andrews, co-founders of We Are Parable) have been doing with We Are Parable these past years across audience engagement and distribution in the U.K.”
