The university reported a total enrollment of 13,580 this year. There were 13,449 enrolled in fall 2015, and 13,531 in fall 2014, when the university topped the 13,500 mark for the first time.
Tulane enrolled 1,856 first-time freshmen and 82 transfers this fall.

Enrollment has been mixed at local colleges this semester.
Delgado Community College said 15,441 students enrolled in classes for either credit, degrees or certificate programs this fall. Last fall, 16,936 students signed up for classes. In the fall of 2014, 17,138 enrolled.
Delgado serves a total of 24,000 students, which includes those in non-credit workforce training programs.

Southern University at New Orleans stands at 2,420 students – down 10.7 percent from the 2,709 that enrolled last fall. The college said 143 first-freshmen enrolled this fall, a 31.9 percent decrease from the fall 2015 figure of 210.
The University of New Orleans said overall enrollment is down 4.6 percent from a year ago, with 8,037 enrolling this semester compared with 8,423 last fall.
Xavier University reported a total of 3,002 students. That’s about 30 more than last fall, and the first time that enrollment has topped the 3,000 mark since 2013. The numbers were boosted by 764 first-time freshmen – an 11.6 percent increase over last year’s freshman total of 684 students.
University of Holy Cross reports 1,222 students at its West Bank campus this semester. That’s about 15 higher than the previous fall.
Dillard University has 1,251 students enrolled this fall, a 6 percent increase over the previous academic year and the university’s second highest figure since 2005. A 17 percent surge in first-time freshmen contributed to the increase.
Loyola University, which has seen a continued drop in fall enrollment, has not yet reported numbers for this year. A university spokeswoman said the school wants to wait until after its open house this weekend before releasing them.
