“Manjummel Boys” is making huge waves and is poised to etch its name in history as the first Malayalam film to break the $1 million barrier in North America.
This survival thriller, directed by Chidambaram, follows a group of friends on a trip to Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, where they find themselves embroiled in perilous circumstances.
Trade experts predict that “Manjummel Boys” will surpass $1 million in North America by the end of the upcoming week, with its current earnings nearing $700,000.
Notably, the film’s second Saturday collections in the U.S. amounted to $161,806, bringing its total to $636,454.
This milestone not only positions “Manjummel Boys” as the top-grossing Malayalam film in North America but also sets a new record for the region, surpassing previous hits like “Lucifer.”
What’s particularly remarkable is the film’s exceptional return on investment (ROI), making it the most profitable Malayalam film in the US.
It is a phenomenal achievement that a film with no big star and budget is creating such havoc in the US market which is predominantly driven by star power.
