Rajinikanth's 1999 Tamil release 'Padayappa' is one of the most popular box office hits in Tamil, and the Superstar actor played an inspiring role in the rural entertainer. Directed by KS Ravikumar, 'Padayappa' also has Soundarya, Ramya Krishnan, Sivaji Ganesan, Manivannan, Senthil, and Ramesh Khanna, among others, and the film had music scored by AR Rahman. 'Padayappa' is Rajinikanth's one of the most watched films, and the re-release of this entertaining film is set to recreate box office records.

Kamal Haasan and director Shankar joined hands for the 1996 Tamil release 'Indian', and the duo has reunited for the film's sequel again. 'Indian 2' is slated to have a pan-Indian release on July 12, and the makers have planned to re-release the 1996 release once again in theaters for the audience to revisit the classic film before watching the sequel. 'Indian' occupying theaters ahead of 'Indian 2' will allow fans to recall some memories about the film.
