Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House wanted a makeover in 10 days. They got it in nine and a half.
The French Quarter received upgrades to its dining room, hotel lobby bar and the café bar. The renovations included new heart of pine reclaimed wood floors, banquettes and updated finishes including painting and staining woodwork. Some of the new millwork items include a new host/hostess stand, bourbon display, back bar display shelves and a menu that features the bar’s more than 100 bourbon options.
There are also new lighting fixtures and furniture in the restaurant, and the layout of its entrance was modified to be more inviting.
Gootee said his firm worked for months during the design-assist phase to ensure the restaurant would be closed a maximum of 10 days.
He said it’s one of the fastest jobs the firm has done. Gootee Contractors finished renovations on Dickie Brennan’s Palace Café in 52 days.
